My Gallery is stale. The art that is present is so old that it is non-representative of me. The problem I have, the one that I am brutally aware existence, is an apathetic mindset. I am in a rut in which the mediocre and the mundane are acceptable, not only that it is what is expected. I tell myself that there is no point of putting stuff up on this site because no one would care, that no one would notice. The truth is that people do not notice because I do not put anything up. I do not present the ever recreated image that is myself. This is the apathetic lifestyle, the self enforced barrier for all aspects of life, the force preventing ourselves from action. Action is what constantly recreates our self image, the image by which we perceive others (and how others perceive us) and how we perceive reality. Without action we view things in terms of the past, we follow a routine because that is the image we have of how things are. Being stuck in the routine of daily life makes us complacent towards action; we limit our creative selves to our subconscious. By letting ones creative self act, we let go of the apathetic life, we realize that the mediocre is not okay. We challenge the daily grind and look to create something bigger. We become active players, we no longer drift in the haze of life, and we take control of the definition of reality. Art (by art I mean music, writing, painting etc.) is the realization of the creative self; we abandon the apathetic lifestyle and produce ideas into a tangible form. Where once something did not exist but only in one’s mind is now an active force affecting those around it. We need to let our ideas have physical representation, in doing so we change the world. We need to rid ourselves of the apathetic lifestyle, take action and release our creative selves.
Art is the truest representation of our innermost ideas, and I feel if I continue to create, I will continue to grow and change. By posting art here I will not only grow myself but affect others, and therefore change the world. I cannot think of a better goal.
